Exams Facilitator

We are currently seeking to expand our welcoming, flexible and child-centred team by recruiting an Exams Facilitator  to contribute towards positive outcomes for the young people accessing our alternative provision.

At FAB Learning we pride ourselves in creating flexible educational programmes which are personalised to the individual, whether that’s re-engaging a young person with education or gaining specific skills. Our services extend to providing support for children and young people who face challenges such as potential permanent exclusion, significant attendance issues, or vulnerability associated with special educational needs. We welcome professionals who share our ethos to apply for this role.

You will be responsible for providing various means of support to the different processes within the company, including leading and coordinate the administration of exams across the provision, including carrying out scheduling, administrative and functional processes that enable learners to achieve various qualifications at different points in the academic year. The post-holder will be offered a full induction and training to carry out the role, and we welcome applications from individuals with diverse backgrounds, including administration. The successful applicant will work primarily from home with one day on-site per week in Nottinghamshire/Derbyshire and travel to these areas intermittently.

Sessional Tutor

Function of role

To support and maintain a high level of learner engagement through collaborative preparation and delivery of an innovative, creative and flexible curriculum. To use a collaborative and multi agency holistic approach to delivering an education provision which includes attention to health and safety awareness, risk management and the safeguarding of young people.

Location: Nottinghamshire / Derbyshire

The post holder will be responsible for delivering an innovative, creative and flexible curriculum during sessions to support children and young people’s needs. The sessions will take place in a mixture of small groups and 1:1 within community venues.

Your Impact

  • Engage and Support: Utilise a collaborative, multi-sensory, and holistic approach to maintain learning through engagement and interventions in order for our learners to be able to access the curriculum.
  • Empower Learners: Enable students to thrive in a small group or 1:1 setting and to foster creativity and resilience

Additional Responsibilities

  • Complete weekly running logs
  • Liaise with parents and carers on a regular basis
  • Complete half termly progress reports
  • Complete appropriate digital paperwork when required

Requirements

  • Curriculum: Our learners will fall within the Key Stages 2/3/4/Post 16 platform, curriculum knowledge will be required within these stages.
  • SEN/D Experience: Employ innovative engagement strategies to prioritise learners’ needs.
    Understanding of the nature and complexity of SEND is essential, as well as skills in behaviour management.
  • Driving Licence: The role will require travel across either Nottinghamshire or Derbyshire. A valid driving licence and access to a vehicle with business insurance are essential for transporting learners to various locations.
  • ICT Literacy: In order to fulfil this role, candidates will require the skills necessary to work independently and record information on a secure network (Google Drive) and safeguarding software. They will also require access to a laptop with anti-virus software, and a mobile phone with WhatsApp.

FAB Learning is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All candidates will be subjected to Safer Recruitment checks and will not be able to commence employment without a satisfactory DBS and two references.

Salary:Self Employed: £20-42 per hour (self-employed, term time only) - Permanent Employees: £24,960 (full time) per annum or adjusted at £16 per hour for part-time tutors including pay over holiday periods.


Hours:Part-time and full-time available. Up to 30 hours per week for full-time tutors.
