FAB Tutor Training Day
Everyone working at FAB Learning had the opportunity to take part in a training day on 5th January 2026 that focused on Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA) and deepening their understanding and confidence in supporting young people who have experienced adverse childhood experiences (ACEs). We were grateful to have training delivered by NAPAC (The National Association for People Abused in Childhood) and the PDA Society.
We recognise that many of the young people accessing our provision have lived through systemic and generational trauma, and their emotional and behavioural responses often reflect the impact of those experiences. Staff were able to build their knowledge and practical tools that are needed to provide stability, engagement, and safety for these learners, recognising that meaningful progress often begins with trust and connection rather than formal academic outcomes.
During the afternoon session, staff took part in a workshop focused on increasing their understanding of Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA), which allowed them to focus on a tailored, flexible framework of helpful approaches for working with and supporting learners with PDA at FAB Learning.
We are very pleased that our team will be able to begin the new academic term with even more tools to support many of the young people accessing our services.
